The Sony Walkman NWZ-X1050 sports 16GB of storage, is Sonys first touchscreen MP3 Walkman. Available now in the UK!

The Sony X Series Walkman feature highlights of the new touchscreen Walkman include 3 inch wide OLED touch screen display with WQVGA resolution, 13.5mm EX Headphones, Digital Amplifier ”S-Master,” Digital Noise Canceling, Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE), Touch panel operation with hybrid button system, Integrated WiFi delivers content from internet and other services including Podcast auto download, YouTube Streaming and Music Meta Link, FM and Multi Audio/Video Codec support for MP3/WMA/AAC/L-PCM and AVC(H.264/AVC)/MPEG-4/WMV DRM.

The Sony X series Walkman is looking to be a nice video and music player, but without an App Store it is just not competing in the same league as the iPod touch.

US availability is still unclear, but Sony previously said they would launch over the Summer.

Theres even support for iTunes AAC tracks now they are DRM free, and video downloads from the BBC's iplayer. The sound quality is impeccable, bolstered by built in noise cancelling.
